Guardian on Google TV launched as a beta app

The Guardian has launched their first app aimed at television viewers for the Google TV platform.

Guardian on Google TV is currently in beta and functions as a HTML5 powered web app.

You can in fact run it in a web browser like Google Chrome though usability is a major issue.

The Guardian spoke about the app:

We wanted to have a go at designing a Guardian news experience for the large screen, to see what did and didn’t work. Big pictures and video work well, but lots of text not so much.
