HTC and Samsung have both launched their flagship models for the year 2012.
HTC launched their One X earlier this year. Samsung followed with Galaxy S III.
Samsung is now expected to launch the second generation Galaxy Note smartphone later this month.
And online sources suggest that HTC is working on a rival device that could be launched before the end of the current year.
Sources say that the new phone from HTC would feature a 5 inch display capable of 1794×1080 resolution. This indicates that the company could be switching to onscreen buttons like on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone.
Reports further say that the device could be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz processor along with an Adreno 320 GPU. These could of course be connected to prototype units and the final version might feature something totally different.
These rumors are largely based on benchmarks available online of an unknown device.
