IAC might be looking for a buyer for Vimeo

Vimeo is one of the very few alternatives to YouTube we have in the market today.

The service has tons of loyal users who prefer it over YouTube.

This is despite the fact that Vimeo offer some features in their paid edition which are available for free on YouTube.

Running a video sharing service is expensive. Especially when it has been so hard to monetize through advertising.

Vimeo’s paid accounts are unlikely to sustain the service on its own.

IAC is said to be seeking around USD 300 million for Vimeo. With revenues rumored to be just around USD 5 million, it would be very hard for them to find a buyer at this price.
