Indian mobile operators propose a charge for inactive connections

Mobile operators in the country have been disconnecting numbers that have not been used at all in the last two months.

This has been affecting a lot of consumers who for some reason are not able to use their phones for this time duration.

Mobile operators have now proposed an optional charge that can be implemented if the user wants to keep a connection activated.

Reports say that they are proposing a fee ranging from Rs. 150 for six months to Rs. 300 for a year.

This fee would be non-refundable of course. Remains to be seen if TRAI accepts this proposal.
