Apple iTunes updated terms require you to use legal music with iTunes Match service
Apple has updated the terms and conditions for their iTunes service and application.
The updated terms require the user to accept one major new condition. The term is that they would only add legally purchased music files to their iTunes Match account.
Apple iTunes Match is a subscription based service that allow users to get their music on the cloud. The existing music files on their system are matched with Apple’s database and they get access to the Apple’s copy online.
It is not clear whether Apple has added this clause for legal reasons or they actually plan to enforce it. It would be interesting to see how this proceeds. Apple can easily check for pirated music files added by users to their accounts and report them to the copyright holders.
