Jimmy Wales confirms Wikipedia is going to move away from Go Daddy
Go Daddy has been making news all day long because of their stance on Stop Online Piracy Act.
The company initially supported this Act which could soon become a law in the USA.
The backlash from the online audience had a solid effect on the company as they have just announced a change in company policy to no longer support SOPA.
However, this is not really working out well for them as most people are not satisfied with this decision which seems to be aimed at controlling the PR damage.
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales in fact has just tweeted that they are not satisfied with the response and they are going to move all the domains away from Go Daddy in the near future.
I am proud to announce that the Wikipedia domain names will move away from GoDaddy.Their position on #sopa is unacceptable to us.
