Lenovo Android App Shop being discontinued

Lenovo is shutting down their own mobile app store for Google Android devices.

The company is suggesting users to switch to Google Play Store for future updates.

There are however a bunch of apps that would stop working because of licensing related issues once this app store is disabled.

Lenovo said in a note:

The majority of applications downloaded from the Lenovo App Shop will continue to work, however there is a small subset of apps that will stop working by Nov 2nd. These applications all utilize the store partner’s license management system. Once the store closes, this license management system will no longer be available. If you have purchased one or more of the apps listed below, we recommend that you contact the app developer or Independent Software Vendor (ISV) for assistance. You can usually locate the app developer’s technical support via email. Most applications include an email address in the app. We also recommend you select and install a backup program from the Google Play Store to back up all your apps.
