LinkedIn reportedly got hacked. 6.46 million passwords leaked online!

If you are a LinkedIn user, this is a good time to change your password. It would also be a good time to reconsider your password strategy if you use same password on multiple services.

Online sources are claiming that the company’s servers recently got hacked and around 6.5 million passwords are now available online in encrypted format.

It is not clear if the hackers got access to login names as well. It is still advisable to be careful and ensure that you change your LinkedIn password from other services as well.

LinkedIn has stated that they are looking into the reports of the hack and we expect to hear more from them in the coming days.
