TechCrunch has reported that Marissa Mayer might have joined the Flickr photo sharing platform. The account currently showcases a single photo that made headlines on her appointment as the CEO of Yahoo.
It is not clear if this account is official but TechCrunch believes that this might be an indication that Yahoo’s top management might finally give Flickr the much needed attention.
Flickr was once the most loved photo sharing platform on the web. It was later on acquired by Yahoo and has struggled to compete against the emerging competition from rival services like 500px. Facebook has already become the web’s largest photo sharing platform. They own Instagram which is arguably the most popular mobile phone sharing platform. Google has renewed competition with their Google Plus platform.
