Mark Zuckerberg has just announced that Facebook is now being used by more than 1 billion users actively on a monthly basis.

This is a significant milestone for the company which just went public recently and has been working hard to boost revenues.

Zuck said in a note on the website:

I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too.
