Maruti Alto has now sold 20 million units

Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that they have sold more than 20 million units of their Alto small car since its launch around 12 years ago.

The company said:

Alto’s superior fuel efficiency, compact sleek design, good maneuverability and overall low cost of ownership are the attributes that make it the best car for the first time buyers.

Alto overtook 800 to become the top selling car in the Indian market around seven years ago. It has also been the world’s bestselling small car for the last two years.
