Maruti Suzuki India aims to start operations in Gujarat by 2015

Gurgaon has become a nightmare for Suzuki as the company continues to face troubles from the labor unions.

The company has already decided to open a plant in Gujarat. This is probably just the beginning of the end of Maruti’s presence in the city of Gurgaon.

Maruti has indicated that they hope to start production at their Gujarat plant by 2015.

They have also restarted production at their plant in Manesar which has been the primary spot of trouble with labor. Maruti is taking it slow right now manufacturing only a few units per day hoping for things to smoothen out in the near future.

The company indicated that the latest round of problems with labor unions have already cost them production of 30,000 units.

This include some of their best-selling models like the Suzuki DZire which has a long waiting list in the market.
