Maruti Suzuki India has announced that they are planning to invest around Rs. 4000 on their new plant in the state of Gujarat.

The company said:

This land purchase by the company is in line with long term management view on expansion of its manufacturing facilities in India to meet future market demand.

Maruti already has two manufacturing units in Gurgaon and Manesar. This new plant would initially have a manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum. Maruti aims to expand the production in a phased manner. With this the company would totally have a capacity of 20 lakh units per year.
