Kim Dotcom announced yesterday that his new project Mega has already crossed more than 1 million users.

The service is offering 50GB of free storage powered with strong encryption. Paid plans are available for users who want extra space.

For the users though, the experience has been more or less disappointing. The service is slow because of the overload. Uploading files has been largely disappointing.

I have personally not be able to upload even 5MB of data despite multiple attempts. Things should however get better with time.
