Microsoft has rolled out another major update on their Bing search engine.

Bing search results would now show direct answers to relevant queries from Encyclopædia Britannica.

Right now, content from Encyclopædia Britannica comes at around the middle of the page. Wikipedia with its immense popularity continues to dominate the search results. It is not clear whether Microsoft aims to promote results from Encyclopædia Britannica artificially because of this partnership.

The company said:

Starting today, we’re excited to announce a partnership with Encyclopedia Britannica to include Britannica Online answers directly in the Bing results page. The answer provides a quick overview of the subject, a thumbnail image, and useful facts and figures making it easier than ever to get trusted content in search. We also pull in direct links to other trusted sources.

This is similar to what Google is doing on their own search engine with Knowledge Graph.
