Online sources are reporting that Microsoft would switch a brand new branding for their new user interface that would be part of the Windows 8 operating system.

Microsoft has been using the Metro branding for this new UI guideline that launched on their Windows Phone platform.

The company is expected to announce the new updated branding later this week.

Sources say that this is probably because of potential issues related to trademark infringement. Metro name is used globally by multiple corporations that can target Microsoft with lawsuits.
