Online sources are indicating that Microsoft has no plans to update their Office for Mac suites for retina displays on the new generation MacBook Pros.

The company claims that the last two editions of Office for Mac are compatible with Mountain Lion even though they have not added support for the new features introduced in this update.

Microsoft has also not revealed when a new version of Office for Mac would be released for OS X.

The company is scheduled to launch a new version of Office for Windows OS early next year.
