Microsoft to replace Metro branding with Windows 8 branding?

ZDNet is reporting that Microsoft is likely to replace the Metro branding for apps and UI guidelines with Windows 8 itself.

So you would calling Metro optimized apps as Windows 8 Apps.

Microsoft has already started using the apps terminology for software applications for the Windows 8 platform.

The company recently said that Metro was an inside codename for the new UI guidelines being introduced with Windows 8 and it was never supposed to be used officially in public.
