Microsoft SkyDrive could soon get desktop apps for Windows and Mac along with paid storage

Microsoft is working hard on making their SkyDrive service a solid alternative to services like Dropbox for online storage and syncing.

The service is currently tightly integrated with Windows Phone platform. Windows 8 is also likely to feature deep integration with SkyDrive.

And to make it more powerful, the company could soon release desktop syncing apps for both Windows and Mac platforms.

Online sources are also suggesting that the company is also going to offer extra storage for a price… rumored pricing is: 20, 50 and 100 GB for $19, $46 and $93 respectively. This is much higher than what Google charges for storage but SkyDrive has 25GB free compared to just 1GB free space offered by Google currently.
