We have already seen reports on how SkyDrive would soon feature desktop apps for both Windows and Mac platforms. We also know that Microsoft would offer additional storage for a price.

There are new reports online talking about tons of additional features that are apparently coming to the SkyDrive platform. Here are some:

Users would be able to store and manage their BitLocker recovery keys. This feature is likely to be part of Windows 8.

SkyDrive would add support for ODF formats (.odt, .odp, .ods). This is good news for people who prefer ODF file formats over Microsoft’s own file formats.

SkyDrive desktop app is likely to offer access to files and folders on your computer over the web. This means that you would get the ability to access your entire computer’s content from anywhere provided your machine is on and you have authorized access to the app.

SkyDrive would get its own short link service for sharing files and other content. sdrv.ms is going to be its own dedicated link shortening service.

Users would get direct sharing capabilities to social networks like Twitter and Facebook.

Users would get the ability to store files of size up to 300MB. The current limit is at 100MB.
