Microsoft has revealed that they have sold more than 60 million Windows 8 licenses worldwide.

This include upgrades, OEM editions and retail purchases.

The company said that this indicates that Windows 8 is being adopted as quickly as Windows 7 by the consumers.

Microsoft added:

We have seen a significant increase in the number of Windows 8 certified systems since general availability at the end of October. There are now more than 1,700 certified systems for Windows 8 and Windows RT.

The company further said that more than 100 million apps have been downloaded from their Windows Store since the launch in October last year.
