Motorola Mobility likely to see job cuts as Google nearing competition of deal

Online sources are indicating that Google would most probably launch a job cutting exercise at Motorola Mobility after the deal is complete.

Google got the go-ahead from Chinese regulatory bodies recently for the deal and it is expected to complete sometime this month.

The company is paying around USD 12.5 billion for Motorola Mobility. Getting access to patents owned by the company was one of the biggest reasons behind this acquisition.

Motorola Mobility has been a loss making company for a while now and Google would want to limit the long term damage by cutting costs at their newly acquired entity.
