MySpace continues to struggle against Facebook

Facebook opened up their network to anyone online a few years ago and they have been dominating ever since.

They overtook MySpace to become the most popular social networking service on the web.

And this has turned into a disaster for MySpace which could now lose as much as USD 100 million in their advertising and search deal with Google.

Wired has reported that the falling traffic on MySpace could mean that the company could not meet the minimum traffic level required for full payments in their deal with Google.

The deal between MySpace and Google was signed at a time when they dominated the market.

News Corp representative Chase Carey has already admitted that they are no longer trying to compete against rivals in the market including Facebook and Twitter. He said: “We’re not trying to beat Facebook. We’re not trying to beat Twitter.”
