OpenDNS now handling 20 billion DNS queries daily!
OpenDNS has just revealed that they have touched another milestone with their free DNS service.
They are now serving 20 billion DNS queries on a daily basis.
This is a phenomenal achievement for the company as they touched the 10 billion milestone in April this year.
OpenDNS spoke about this in a blog posting:
2009 was an exceptional year for OpenDNS, but the next year is poised to be even better. In 2010 we’ll be adding more server locations and more server capacity to make our international coverage even better. We’ll give you new features that allow more customization of how OpenDNS works for you. And, we’ll work hard to keep DNS innovation synonymous with OpenDNS.
The company incidentally now faces their biggest rival yet… Google recently launched their own DNS service named Google Public DNS.
