Nissan considering launching Leaf in India!
Nissan has admitted that they are considering launching their electric car Leaf in the Indian market.
The company said: “We are studying the feasibility of introducing Leaf in the Indian market. Nissan is known for innovation. We have aggressive product launch plan in the pipeline. Through our launch we will bring innovations also.”
Indian is not a market known for fondness of hybrid or electric cars. We of course do have our Reva which is now owned by Mahindra. Reva is so expensive that it hardly finds any buyers in the local market and most units are exported to the international markets.
Nissan Leaf might be able to find some niche buyers in the Indian market though the company would have to ensure that these customers get good support in the longer term.
