Nokia City Lens ad featuring Shah Rukh Khan is again faking phone features

Nokia had to apologize when one of the videos promoting a feature of their recently launched Lumia 920 smartphone was found to be faked.

No one was surprised as it happens all the time. But consumers today expect companies to show real features on real devices without any simulation.

I might have found another similar instance in another ad. Nokia is currently running a television ad showcasing the City Lens app for their Lumia branded devices.

Nokia City Lens is an augmented reality app that superimposes names of places while you are seeing them through the camera on the phone.

The ad features Shah Rukh Khan and it is supposed to be shot in Connaught Place in Delhi.

Here is the advertisement:

Here are the places highlighted on the phone’s display:

old town theatre
grill house
windsor mall
wine hub
paradise kitchen
brown begal

I am no longer a regular visitor to Connaught Place in Delhi but I can safely say that these are not real locations in that area. I would like to hear your comments about this.
