Yahoo has hired Olivier Knox as their first White House correspondent.

He comes to Yahoo from AFP where he had been covering the White House for around eight years now.

He would be reporting to Yahoo’s politics editor Chris Suellentrop who joined the company last year from The New York Times.

Yahoo now has an official White House correspondent!

Knox spoke about his new job profile: “I am thrilled to be joining the team covering politics at Yahoo News and truly honored to serve as the first White House correspondent. It’s a great opportunity.”

This is just part of the Yahoo’s strategy to generate more of their own news content to lessen reliance on third party sources.

Yahoo News is one of the few online services which are doing well for the company.
