Apple has announced that they are going to launch Mountain Lion edition of OS X later today.
The announcement was made yesterday during the Q3 revenue report release.
The company said:
We’re thrilled with record sales of 17 million iPads in the June quarter. We’ve also just updated the entire MacBook line, will release Mountain Lion tomorrow and will be launching iOS 6 this fall. We are also really looking forward to the amazing new products we’ve got in the pipeline.
Apple would sell OS X Mountain Lion for USD 20 through the Mac App Store. Users would be able to install a single license on five different machines at his place.
Apple has already revealed the compatibility list for the latest update of OS X:
Apple iMac (mid-2007 or newer)
Apple MacBook (late 2008 aluminum, or early 2009 or newer)
Apple MacBook Pro (mid/late 2007 or newer)
Apple MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)
Apple Mac mini (early 2009 or newer)
Apple Mac Pro (early 2008 or newer)
Apple Xserve (early 2009)
