Piaggio has finally announced that they are going to launch Vespa branded scooters in the Indian market this year.

The company earlier had a deal with LML which sold LML Vespa branded scooters in India. That deal ended years ago and since then Vespa brand has had no presence here.

Piaggio is planning to launch their scooters by April 2012 through their dealers in 35 Indian cities.

The company is aiming to offer products in the premium segment so they are likely to be expensive compared to rival products.

We can only hope that the scooters maintain the quality and service standards of the brand and does not become a disappointing experience for consumers.
