SolarSpark Productions today announces WorldMic 1.6 for iOS, an update to their social networking app that allows users to post a 60 second voice message free on a worldwide streaming server. The user’s recording then enters the queue, to be heard by thousands of listeners. An in-app message notifies the user approximately how long it will be until their message is played. Participants may choose to record and/or listen to the global server or one of the local servers in the US, Russia, UK, etc.

Hong Kong - SolarSpark Productions today is pleased to announce WorldMic 1.6 for iOS, an update to their social networking app that allows users to post a 60 second voice message free on a worldwide streaming server. Comparable to “Voice Twitter”, the user’s recording then enters the queue, to be heard by thousands of listeners. An in-app message notifies the user approximately how long it will be until their message is played. Participants may choose to record and/or listen to the global server, World Channel, or one of the local servers in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Taiwan, the UK, or the USA.

Log on to Twitter and one can follow the exploits (in 140 characters or less) of celebrities and ordinary people around the globe. Now, WorldMic makes tweeting more immediate and personalized (in 60 seconds or less) by allowing celebrities and ordinary people to post and follow voice messages left on one of WorldMic’s streaming servers. After the initial cost of purchasing the app there are no further charges. Users may listen to or post audio messages without cost, limits, or expiration.

Feature Highlights:
* “Voice Twitter” for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
* Push and hold the big orange button to record a message
* Listen to messages left by people worldwide
* Lets users make new friends, reach thousands of listeners, tell the world their story
* Post or listen without any limits free
* WorldMic is an open mic 24 hours a day, everywhere on earth

Whenever no new voices are being recorded and uploaded, the previous 20 recordings are looped. Browsing from server to server one can hear a variety of rants, monologues, messages, laments, improvisations, observations, pleas, jokes, statements, questions, narrations, songs, stories, and more. They come from iPhone/iPad/iPod owners all over the world of every age. Together, they represent a planetary buzz, a minute-by-minute overheard conversation that changes location every 60 seconds or less. SolarSpark Productions has ingeniously inserted a brief dial tone/telephone receiver pick up sound effect between messages, as if each message had been phoned in (not VoIPed), and left on the world’s largest telephone answering machine.

“You never know who you’ll hear on WorldMic,” said CEO Spark So. “Share your moods, your thoughts, your feelings, your dreams on WorldMic. You never know who’ll be listening.”

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
* iOS 3.0 or later (iOS 4 tested)
* 2.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
WorldMic 1.6 is only $1.99 (USD) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Social Networking category. A free trial version is available that is limited to 20 recordings. Review copies are available upon request.
