Reliance has announced that they have disconnected around 20.5 million mobile connections that have not been active for the last two months.
This is a practice being followed by all the major operators as they aim to focus on catering to active subscribers rather than show an inflated figure.
The company said that this does not affect their revenues as these consumers were not paying for services in the first place.
Tata Teleservices has been shutting down inactive connections in a similar manner and have been reporting decline in their customer base for the last couple of months.
