Reliance Communications has signed up a deal with Google which would see them offer 1GB free data transfer on new Android devices.

The company apparently would bundle their SIM cards with Android devices being sold in the market.

The phones however would be unlocked and could be used with any mobile operator in the country.

The free offer would last for a period of six months. It is not clear if this is applicable on CDMA devices as well.

The big question is… How many customers get new Android devices for a new connection! I mean most people upgrade devices on their existing numbers and would not like to switch their service provider just to get six months of 1GB data free.
