Research in Motion confirms they are considering licensing BB10 to other manufacturers

Research in Motion has said in a statement that they are considering the possibility of licensing their Blackberry 10 platform to other manufacturers.

The company said:

QNX is already licensed across the automotive sector -we could do that with BB10 if we chose to. The platform can be licensed.

It is not clear if they are already in talks for a potential licensing deal. And who might be interested at all.

Google Android and Windows Phone mobile platforms are already available for licensing. Android is getting the maximum love because it comes at no additional costs though critics might argue that patent lawsuits makes it more expensive than Windows Phone platform.

With BB10, RIM would finally have a modern platform that would allow them to compete against the best in the market.
