RIM is set to release an update for their BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet PC.

This update would disable the ability to side load Android apps on the PlayBook.

The company said that this has become necessary to prevent piracy of paid Android apps.

Android apps can be repackaged for PlayBook and shared across the web easily. And this has resulted in massive piracy of paid apps that are not yet available on the PlayBook platform.

The ability to side load would be provided to developers to test their apps. But general users would have to wait for the app to be officially launched on the Blackberry App World now.
