Ross Levinsohn is leaving Yahoo

Ross Levinsohn was one of the top runners for the post of CEO at Yahoo. He lost out to Marissa Mayer who left Google to take the top job at the online media giant.

AllThingsD has reported that he is now leaving the company. He played the role of interim CEO when the company was looking for a fulltime replacement.

Things were always going to be weird between him and Mayer considering the circumstances of her appointment as the CEO.

It is not clear where Ross is headed next but he should have plenty of offers in hand already.
