Samsung Galaxy S getting a value pack update from the company

Samsung had originally announced that they had no plans to launch Android ICS update for their Galaxy S smartphone.

The company was heavily criticized for this decision as Google had released ICS for their Nexus S phone which was based on the Galaxy S model and was manufactured by Samsung.

Samsung finally gave and announced that they would try to come up with something for the owners of this aging smartphone.

The company has finally revealed what they are doing for this model. They have released a value pack update for the owners of Galaxy S which is not really ICS but brings a range of fresh updates.

Samsung highlighted some of the enhancements offered by this update:

Face Unlock (a feature of Android ICS)
Ability to take photos while recording video
New photo editor
Font size adjustment in some apps
Improvements to folders and launcher
Smart Receipt installation icon
