Samsung has announced that two of their most popular Android products Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 are now FIPS certified.
Both of these models are already SAFE compatible which is their own parameter for security on mobile devices.
The company said in a statement:
Earlier this year, Samsung took a huge step forward in setting a high security standard for smartphones and tablets by launching SAFE. The FIPS certification takes Samsung’s B2B-readiness to an even higher level and ensures our devices are now equipped for use in U.S. government agencies and other regulated industries.
FIPS certification means that government bodies in USA can now use these products in their own operations.
