Samsung likely to launch Tizen based smartphones this year

Google Android might have helped Samsung in becoming the world’s largest smartphone maker. But they are not stopping experimenting with other platforms.

Samsung already has their own Bada platform which they use on low end devices.

And we are now expected to see them launch Tizen based devices in the market this year.

The first model could be launched in Japan through a collaboration with NTT DoCoMo.

Samsung is reportedly working on a version of Galaxy S III powered with this new Linux based mobile OS.

Remains to be seen if they would launch high end devices or keep it reserved for the low end models only.
