SkyDrive mobile app launched for Apple iPhone and Windows Phone

Microsoft has launched a mobile app for their SkyDrive web service for Apple iOS and Windows Phone platforms. Google Android is missing right now.

Microsoft SkyDrive is an online digital locker that offers 25GB of free storage to all account holders.

The company also integrates this service in various apps on the Windows Phone platform. The service now has a fully functional native app for this platform.

The app offers the ability to check all the files stored in user’s account. Files can even be shared with others for viewing/editing.

The company said:

We’re thrilled to be releasing our new Windows Phone and iPhone apps today. Just as SkyDrive.com has evolved over the years to be the fastest and best way to access & share your data in the cloud, the way you use SkyDrive across your devices will evolve as well. We want you to have the best of a File cloud, the best of a Device cloud, and the App cloud. We also look forward to making SkyDrive available in more places, both directly and through the Live Connect platform for apps, sites and device OEMs. So stay tuned—we have a lot of great stuff coming!
