Star News in India set to lose Star branding

Star Group has announced that they are forced to end its association with the news channels operating in India with their branding.

The company is owned by News Corp.

Star branding would be removed from the three channels operating in India in the coming months.

Given the current regulatory environment and structural issues ailing the Indian cable and satellite television market and the news genre in particular, Star took this extremely difficult decision to withdraw its brand from the genre
