Steam touches a peak of 5 million gamers at one point of time!

January 2 turned out to be a record breaking day for Steam. The service saw 5 million concurrent users online for the first time ever.

This is pretty impressive considering they only crossed the 4 million milestone in September last year.

The sale during the holiday season in December probably resulted in this new record as a lot more gamers were online checking out their newly purchased or gifted titles.
