Windows Mobile 7 might only arrive late next year
Microsoft sources have revealed that their upcoming update to Windows Mobile operating system is somewhat delayed.
Reports say that Windows Mobile 7 would now only arrive late next year. This could prove to be a deadly delay for the company as they struggle to compete against Google Android, Blackberry and of course Apple iPhone.
Microsoft UK head of mobility Phil Moore has been quoted as saying: “It has been put back until late next year but it is definitely coming. You’re going to see a lot more on Windows Mobile 7. Giving the enterprise users and consumers what they want will be part of Windows Mobile 7. You’ll get flexibility on a much easier touch UI.”
Google Android market is growing at a rapid pace with new devices arriving almost every second week.
Google Android 2.0 has turned out to be an excellent mobile platform. Android 2.1 is being tested by Google employees. By the time we see Windows Mobile 7 arrive, Android might very well be in version 3 if not 4!
