Microsoft investigating Plurk’s allegations

Microsoft recently launched a Twitter like micro-blogging service named MSN Juku in the Chinese market.

Plurk is a rival player in this segment of the market and the company discovered that Juku used a similar interface and even some code was ripped off from their own product.

Microsoft has now stated that they are investigating the claims made by Plurk.

The company said in a statement: “Microsoft takes intellectual property seriously, and we are currently investigating these allegations. It may take some time due to the time zone differences with Beijing.”

Incidentally, Microsoft found itself guilty of similar claims related to another of their product named Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. They later made that product open source to comply with the licenses.
