Maruti Suzuki aims to complete all orders for Swift by April 2012
India’s largest automaker Maruti has revealed that they are aiming to fulfill all pending orders for their Suzuki Swift model by April next year.
The company launched the new Swift a couple of months ago. Launch was a huge success as they received tons of orders.
But problems with worker union at their plants resulted in low manufacturing and as a result they now have a huge backlog of orders.
Sources say that the company currently has around 1 lakh orders for Swift and these customers would have to wait for as long as six months to get their car.
Maruti said: “We expect to make around 18,000-20,000 Swift units a month as soon as the second line at Manesar becomes fully operational by January. It should take four-five months to clear the backlog.”
