
Barnes & Noble has still not officially announced it but the incomplete product page for Nook Audio now has an image of a headphone.
The product looks very nice though no details are available on specifications and pricing.
We expect the company to launch these officially in the coming days.
Barnes & Noble uses the Nook brand for their eBook readers and Tablet PCs. It is not clear why they decided to use it for a pair of headphones. Headphones make a lot of sense with smartphones and digital media players.

Barnes & Noble has launched a new variant of their Nook eBook reader.
This new variant is named Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. It features built-in lights that would make it possible to read the eBooks in dark.
The device is based on their Nook Simple Touch model featuring a six inch touchscreen display.
The company has however managed to take off some weight from this new model even though it adds on LEDs to the device.
It is now on sale for USD 140 though shipping would begin from next month.

We would probably find out sooner or later. The company filed for a trademark on this branding a while ago so it does look like a genuine product and not a mistake.

This puts it in direct competition with Amazon Kindle Fire which has similar storage and pricing.
The company is offering the basic Nook Simple Touch edition for USD 99. Nook Color is now priced at USD 169. Nook Tablet 16GB is priced at USD 249.
Barnes & Noble is expected to start selling a cheaper variant of their Nook Tablet PC from Wednesday.
This variant would come with 8GB onboard storage which would enable the company to price it comparable to the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Nook Tablet is struggling against the Kindle Fire because of its higher price tag.
The new variant would feature similar storage to the Kindle Fire making it a compelling purchase for new customers.
Amazon however still has an advantage when it comes to content available for their model.
