Tata Motors is expected to launch a CNG edition of their Nano model next year.

Nano is currently available only in petrol engine options. Petrol has become considerably expensive in the recent years pushing car buyers to look at diesel and CNG options.

The company has been long expected to launch a diesel edition of Nano but looks like it might take a bit more time.

A CNG edition would work well in the meantime as it is considerably cheaper than petrol to run.

Tata Nano has not done as well as the company expected this model to do. It is selling around 9000 units per month which is considerably lower than Maruti Suzuki Alto which is the top selling car in the Indian market.
