At the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul episode 10, a very powerful group of ghouls known as the Aogiri Tree attack CCG personnel. One of the officers contacts the headquarters to ask for help but is killed. The head official that answers the phone tries to get information from the ghoul who picked it up, but the scene cuts to the roof where two of the ghouls prepare to leave after completing their mission. One is Eto, a young girl, and one is Tatara, a guy with white hair.
On a dock, the Manager from Anteiku and Yomo investigate the pile of dead bodies left by Aogiri Tree. They don’t know their numbers or overall power, but Yomo identifies the leader as the, “One Eyed King”.
At Anteiku, Kaneki notices that less customers have been around. Touka explains that, due to increased Dove activity, less and less ghouls want to go out and show their faces in public, even though increased Dove activity didn’t cause this earlier in the season and doing so would endanger the establishment if the Doves were able to deduce the reason.
Tokyo Ghoul episode 10 is all about parallels and contradictions, sometimes on purpose, sometimes on accident. While Kaneki and Touka are talking, three people barge into the cafe. The leader, a ghoul looking for Rize at the end of the previous episode, demands to see the Manager. His lackeys both wear gas masks. Kaneki hesitates, so he grabs him by the collar and demands to see the manager again. Touka yells at them and demands that they buy coffee if they have business there. The leader snaps in disbelief, but is sitting respectfully with a cup of coffee in the next scene.
He then asks if they know who Rize is. He calls himself Banjou Kazuichi and says that he is from the 11th Ward. He was an acquaintance of Rize. Touka wonders why he came to them, and Banjou says that she mentioned a coffee shop. Before he can go on, he notices Rize’s scent on Kaneki with superb senses typical of every ghoul. Kaneki tries to answer, but Banjou fills in the blank too soon; he accuses them of dating and starts punching him. Kaneki dodges easily and accidentally headbutts him after bowing to apologize and looking back up. This knocks Banjou somehow, even though ghouls can withstand a lot of pain.
Doves in action
At the CCG, Amon takes his place among dozens of other Doves who are getting ready for a briefing in Tokyo Ghoul episode 10. He spots other important officials while he is there, showcasing his great memory and attention to detail. The head official from earlier leads the meeting. He says that the 11th Ward was hit and that there were no survivors in the place they attacked.
At Anteiku, Banjou finally wakes up after being knocked out. Kaneki hands him a glass of water. He points out that Kaneki is tougher than he looks. He mistakenly realizes that that’s why Rize chose to date him, and Kaneki finally gets a chance to deny that point. He apologizes for the misunderstanding. When asked where Rize is, Kaneki deflects and just says that she isn’t there anymore. Banjou tells him that if he ever sees her again to tell her to stay on the run from Aogiri Tree. Before he can finish telling about how much damage Aogiri has done, Ayato crashes through the window.
Ayato and Touka finally reunite in Tokyo Ghoul episode 10. They exchange a few harsh words before Jason barges in the front door along with an acquaintance of his. Elsewhere, the pale pickpocket with stitches tries to find his way around the city. At CCG, the original head official explains the situation about Aogiri and says that there are over 200 members. With a battle between ghouls and humans imminent, he implores his comrades to lay down their lives for him. Before he can finish his speech, the guy with stitches, Suzuya, walks in late to the meeting.
At Anteiku, Jason claims to want to kidnap Kaneki, probably because he smells like Rize. They fight back, but Kaneki ends up getting beat up. Touka tries to intervene, but Ayato knocks her away. He tells her she is weak but was most likely protecting her. Still, he attacks her again and leaves deep wounds, calling her an insect. Meanwhile, Kaneki still tries to remain conscious. This provokes Jason into beating him senseless. Jason’s companion, an effeminate man, convinces him to stop by letting him punch a hole in him. They finally leave, taking Kaneki. The Manager enters later to see the mess and rounds up their men.
Skinny Little Kids
At CCG, Tokyo Ghoul episode 10 presents us with another overpowered, skinny little kid. Suzuya waits at the outskirts of the meeting and is questioned by the head official afterwards. He asks aggressive questions, prompting another official to save him by distracting him with something else. It’s clear that Suzuya is powerful. Apparently, he is their trump card. They talk about Jason a little before Amon learns that Mado left him his Quinque weapons in his will. Suzuya, on the other hand, is sitting on the rooftop, excited to be able to fight ghouls and get new weapons.
At the end of Tokyo Ghoul episode 10, the Manager has a meeting with the available ghouls at his disposal. He then tells them that Kaneki may never return. Nishio objects, but Touka restrains him. Aogiri Tree is a very dangerous, skilled group. Not only that, but the CCG will be involved to further impede their movement. The others there think that he may not want to go, so they all decide that they will go whether he does or not. He admits that he was planning on going all along, and that even though he and Yomo will protect them, he can’t guarantee their safety. Furthermore, the Gourmet, who is still somehow alive, returns to help Kaneki because he wants him for himself.
