Toyota managed to win back the top spot in the automobile market last year.

The Japanese giant sold 9.75 million vehicles last year to beat General Motors and Volkswagen.

GM in comparison sold around 9.28 million cars. Volkswagen was at the third spot with sales of 9.07 million cars.

Toyota is now aiming to improve their sales to 9.91 million this year to retain the top spot.
