Online sources are reporting that Twitter has removed or is in the process of removing support for animated gifs in profile pictures.

The company has just rolled out updated profile pages with header images.

Reports say that freshly uploaded animated gifs would be rejected. Folks who are already using an animated image for their profiles would be allowed to keep them.
