Twitter makes another interesting acquisition: Posterous

Posterous tries to act more like a privacy social network though most of us consider it as a blogging platform.

It is one of the better known blogging platforms out there along with Blogger and WordPress.com.

Twitter makes another interesting acquisition: Posterous

The company has just been acquired by Twitter which sort of baffles me. Twitter is into micro-blogging space. They have never shown interest in letting users post updates larger than 140 characters.

It is not clear what they have planned with Posterous. They cannot simply shut it down because that would make a lot of Posterous users unhappy.

Posterous spoke about the deal:

Posterous Spaces will remain up and running without disruption. We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service. For users who would like to back up their content or move to another service, we’ll share clear instructions for doing so in the coming weeks.
